Lyrics/Text:
When I was a child I wandered these rooms
I watched out the window to see what there blooms
a mountain above and a long road ahead
I wondered should I walk it or stay here instead
And the years they rolled by and no longer I‘d ask
is the mountain or the river or the long road the task
I‘ve been trying to ride this life train just right
never more wondering did I give up the fight
No more chasing the dreams of an old golden boy
No more breaking the rules, no more stealing the toys
No more humming to love songs or the stuff I‘d enjoy
just the sound of this sad odd lament (here) in a suffocated voice
Some people tell me the road‘s still long and free
Others might ask me what I‘d rather be
Is the river still flowing in these lonely veins
or are memories just pictures with frozen blue stains
No more chasing the dreams of an old golden boy
No more breaking the rules, no more stealing the toys
No more humming to love songs or the stuff I‘d enjoy
just the sound of this sad odd lament (here) in a suffocated voice
so I‘m counting the stories in these hungry walls
all have been told once but I stilll hear their calls
I‘ve been leaving for days now but the mountain‘s too high
been standing by the river but it‘s still too deep to fly
For when love were too strong and my heart leapt in faith
I might ruin this house and feel like fading in space
so I‘m standing these grounds and keep praying through pain
this sad odd lament for the sake of not going insane
What's a golden boy to do?
What's a golden boy to do?
What's a golden boy to do?
